Stuffed Animal Collection: Chi Chi Reports

Image
Mom & Kid who won the snow man Photo by Chi Chi Um hi, My name is chi chi. I'm here on behalf of the King, Sher Con the Great, to report on the service auction I went to.  There was a great turnout, and everyone seemed to be having fun. I couldn't tell for sure as someone forgot to inform me it was a ladies only event and I had to hide in Jenn's purse! -- You   should have just told them you were there on My business; they would have let you in, and probably given you a grand seat too! Well anyway I was not informed and I'm still new to the job of being your royal messenger, so I did not know all that. you should have told me   what to do to get in.-- On to the report. I listened close and even took notes on what I heard. There were many great service crafts auctioned including four of the King's "blankets" courtesy of Jenn and Becky. In fact there were so many great crafts that Becky's handknit blankets had to be auctioned in pairs. They ...

Stuffed Animal Collection: E=mc2? - Einstein

e=mc^2 Do you know who said that? It was Einstein, the Genius I am named for. I’m smart, but not quite that smart. I love to learn new things, and enjoy visiting art and history museums. My favorite time of year is February - March, and let me tell you why. In Alaska there is a special race every year to commemorate the heroics of my ancestors. In that time, the most reliable form of transportation (in Alaska) was dog sled. It kept us employed at least! It was hard work, and the dogs on a team didn’t always get along perfectly, but they were mostly treated fair: A place to sleep, good food, and if the Man-employer had a family plenty of love from his older children. One year in the dead of winter there was an outbreak of Diphtheria in Nome Alaska. It was January 22, 1925, when a doctor by the name of Welch sent two radio telegrams, one to alert all major towns in Alaska of the outbreak, and one to the us public health service in Washington, D.C. telling of his urgent need for anti...

Stuffed Animal Collection: Vinny (a mouse)

Help! Somebody! Anybody! Help! Help! My name is Vinny, and I’m trapped in a house with 3 cats trying to eat me! What’s worse, the people laugh! They’re encouraging the cats! One time I was minding my own business, hiding under the dresser, and I see this huge hand coming at me, it was too fast for me to get away. I closed my eyes with fright! After she took me by my tail and started dangling me, I opened my eyes and found myself hanging right in front of Magick – the all black female cat. Jenn was trying to feed me to her! At other times either Magick or her sister Spike will find me in a corner of the living room, and carry me – in their mouths – all the way through the house to the dining room. They say food belongs in this room and not the other. That’s all I am to these cats! Food! I wouldn’t have survived this long if it were not for cats always playing with their food. They play and I escape. But I can’t seem to get out of the house, and someone always finds me again! I ...

Stuffed Animal Collection: Sher Con The Great!

Loyal Subjects: Greetings from the king! Sher Con the great! –Applause-- I have been quite busy lately, but I have finally found some time to write to you, my loyal subjects. – a lot has happened in this great kingdom, Becky and Jenn have been driving everyone crazy – almost as crazy as they are – with their flower mania! The whole jungle is in bloom, and they’ve gotten it in their heads to draw every flower! Ahh!!! It’s madness! I’ve been running around behind them trying to convince everyone they mean no harm and that if they’ll just bear with it for a little while, the peace and tranquility will return. On top of that entire ruckus, Chi Chi, a leopard cub, is in need of some mentoring for kingship. It is a sacred trust all felines have to be a good and wise king in our jungles, and as Chi Chi was lost, and wandered into my Jungle, I must be a good example, and teach him kingly ways. – What else? Oh yeah, spring as most of you know is a time when all the animals sing their s...

Stuffed Animal Collection: Becky's Daughter, Bunny Introduced

Image
Hi! it's Becky again. Yeah, not everyone's had a chance to speak, but as my daughter Bunny is having some difficulty getting her thoughts together about what she want's to say, we've all talked about it, and decided I could tell a little about her, and she could correct me, and build upon my introduction of her.  Also some of the others may be introduced like this.-- hunh.... - what can I say about Bunny?... she very energetic that is for sure - And musical!! Drums of all things. - it's good she's got energy - maybe even hyper - not sure, I'm just sayin'. - the energy does come in handy for her though 'cause Joe’s – he’s Jenn’s hubby – his drum set is very large in comparison to my Bunny – so she really has to move around and very quickly to be able to hit the high hat and the snare and the toms. It’s all so complicated – she can tell you more about them. Let me just say all that movement reminds me of the energy it takes to move around a group...

Stuffed Animal Collection: George

Image
George is my name, but don't be fooled. I am not anything like that human clown who's always swinging into a tree! I am more like King Kong, though I am not a king. I prefer it that way. Don't think that because I'm not a king I'm not strong or can not be a leader. Quite the opposite. I am very strong, and should the need ever arise would be among the greatest of leaders. I simply prefer to let Sher Con rule; he likes it, and is honorable. I have my roles as husband and father to spend time in. -- I hope none of you are racest, because my wife is the smartest and most talented chimp-monk there is. she's 3/4 chimpanzee and 1/4 monkey, and she's beautiful. Her name is Becky. I'm all gorrilla on the outside, - strong and courageous - but my heart turned to mush when I met this dazzling beauty. I just had an overwhelming and uncontrolable desire to love and care for her, and protect her. I soon found out she didn't need my protection; she was far to sm...

Stuffed Animal Collection: Becky

Image
Let me introduce myself. My name is Becky. I am a chimpanzee, um, with about 1/4 monkey on my mothers side - that's how I got a tail. My great grandpa was an orphan and wandered into a chimp village  where my great great auntie adopted him. he was very smart for a monkey, and he learned the chimpanzee way of intelligence and lifetime learning pretty early on. - I wanted you to know that so you wouldn't think I was just another dumb monkey, or that I had somehow inherited illiteracy or stupidity from that side of my ancestry. If anything, because of my tail, and my smarts combined  I can jump and swing farther than most monkeys  and climb higher than most chimps.  I use my brainpower to compute velocity and angles, etc. for the jumping and swinging, and my tail helps me balance and reach higher limbs; I like to see the better and more beautiful views.  I'm an artist, and most of my peers haven't seen the views I...

Stuffed Animal Collection: Sher Con

Image
Hi. My name is Sher Con. I am a ferocious tiger. Got that? Ferocious TIGER! I'm not some cuddly kitty. One of my people has a hard time with that. - I give her a small amount of tolerance only because I think she may be slightly crazy. In the jungle when that happens all the other animals tend to give the crazy one a wide berth. My other person gets that I'm ferocious  and could rip you to shreds in a matter of minutes. He has respect for the ferocity of felines, and especially the larger wild cats, and he knows better than to under estimate a tiger. I am Sher Con, King of Tigers! He does not mess with me. From this respect he has shown to me, we have developed a mutual liking of one another, but I shall never understand his choice of mates. - Yep, you guessed it, he chose that crazy human female I mentioned earlier as his mate. Weird! Anyway more about me. Like I said I am King of Tigers. My name Sher C...
