Pigion zazzle T-shirt design

Image
Pigion Poetry Inspiration that's right, I made a t-shirt design on Zazzle!  I thought I'd share with all my blogger friends and followers, and I'd also like to ask for some help. I'd like to brainstorm some tags for this. so far I have a few simple ones: Pigions, Photography, Poetry, and Philosophical. I'm not sure it could be called philosophical or not, but that's what I got.  I'm not sure if people would look for poetry on a t-shirt, but I guess that's where I'm putting this poem I wrote. it's called "Pigions in the Yard" "Yard full of bounty, Peck and scratch the soil, No cares for tomarrow. Today you work and toil, Tomarrow enjoy your spoil." tell me what you think!

my Redbubble has been updated

Image
ok so today I took a little bit of time to update my redbubble account with a few new photos. I added some photos of pigions. 5 photos to be exsact.  the photos are from when we were living off ramsey st, but I edited them just 2 days ago. added color saturation and croped out the background and generally fixed them up some. don't know what it will bring but I'm planing on doing the same to my other photo printing sites. Diviantart, threadless, zazzle.... all of which have a system for making prints of photos, allowing a photographer the ability to sell the photographs and recieve a minimal markup for taking and in some cases editing a photo. hoping my photography has improved enough to maybe sell some prints, t shirts, hats and things, cause I could really use the extra $$ right about now!!! the photos you see here are just a few that I have done.

Dot the One Eyed Monster

Once there was a one eyed monster named Dot.  She had only one eye. Dot had lots of dots all along her arms and feet and even above her one eye. It wasn't easy for Dot, be a one eyed monster, especially since she was the only one with so many dots. She often wished someone whould just ignore her dots for once. No one ever seemed to notice other traits, just her one eye, and the dots. She just wished she could find a monster friend who would understand. - - - - - - - - - - -  - - -- -- - --  -- -  - - -- -  -- - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - -- - -   --  -- -  - -- - - - -  --  -- - - -  - If you like this story and want to hear / read more about Dot the One Eyed Monster please leave your comment below.

Thought provoking Poem

Desiderata by Max Ehrmann Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the fa

JennFamousArt Artfire studio store inventory expantion

Image
I have a studio store on Artfire, an online marketplace, called JennFamousArt.  I am in the process of building up and expanding JennFamousArt's inventory.  My first goal is to reach an expanded inventory of 100 items. Working from a home studio which is cramped and nothing more than a fold out chair, a tv dinner table, and a laundry basket with a lid which serves double duty, stores my supplies, and I put the paints I'm currently using on top for easy access and reach. I paint figurines, or watercolor paintings from photographs I've taken over the years.  I then take photos of my work, and with my camera and small laptop computer in hand, I walk or ride my bycycle, or the bus to the library so I can go online to expand JennFamousArt's shop listings on Artfire.  If this Artfire shop, JennFamousArt, is interesting to you and you would like to help with my studio and store expantion efforts feel free to Shop or

Search engine optimization.

First you have to know what you want to do. For me that's not all that easy, but at the same time it's not difficult. I've always known I want to be an artist, and I've always loved to paint. Next you brainstorm keywords that relate to what you want to do. Paint pictures, Artistry, color, murals. Those should be good, but the more specific you can get the better. I like animals and painting them is fun. I especially love wildlife, including squirils, chipmunks, deer, rabbits, Canadian Geese, and ducks, so those might be better keywords for me. now that you have a list of keywords, you have a vocabulary assignment. Just like in grade school when you had to use each (keyword) in a sentance, only this time come up with several sentances, and use the (keyword) in different forms too. Canadian geese remind me of home. When I was young the geese used to gather by the hundreds every year before they migrated south. I suppose Canadians would say the same thing, because the

“It’s story time” From Artfire Threads Date: March 15, 2010

Once upon a time there was a lovely lady called Gertrude and a wonderful man called Bert: Bert & Gert, they lived out in the countryside in a little cottage much like in the Hansel & Grettle stories. It was a beautiful spring morning and Bert woke up Gert with her usual cup of Earl Grey tea, Bert threw open the bedroom curtains and he saw......... the flowers were in bloom and the birds were singing! then he noticed something strange in the field.... Bert put on his coat and hat told Gert where he was going. Then headed out to see what was in the field Burt opened the front door and was greeted by the smell of a fresh day. He began to walk towards the strange figure in the distance. Bert could only walk slow with a cane, by the time he got up to the mysterious man, he had vanished The lush grass was a spongy carpet beneath his feet. It gave him a feeling of walking on air, as he closed in on his object of focus... The figure was wearing a dark hood. It was walking away a

Google Search 101 - a computer class at the Library

so today I went to the library for a computer class entitled "Google 101" where I picked up some google search tips I thought might be interesting to share what I learned and a few tips on how to apply them to Art, and an artists online shop. First I will list the tips with some exsamples of how to use them for art searches.   then I will give some ways they could be applied to artists shops. " " quotation marks - use these for exsact phrase searches like "North Carolina" or "Fine Art Painting" they work particularly well if you're searching for a particular work of art  "Madonna and Child" or "The Last Supper" + plus sign - use this to make sure a word is included in the search results.  - minus sign -- use this when a word has more than one meaning, OR - by inserting an uppercase "or" between two terms you can search for pages with either of the terms  -- Fine art dragons wall OR 2D  -- dragon figurines OR

Friday Funday Introduced

Image
When I first started this blog, I guess I really didn't have much of a direction other than I wanted to talk about art, and my life as an artist and crafts person. - The people I've met, or anything else that could be of some interest to the creative world. My goals in this have been two fold - First to provide my readers with interesting and or entertaining material to read with their morning orange Juice - since I hate coffee! - Sorry had to throw that in there. And second to gennerate traffic that may or may not provide a small - very small infact - income for myself and my family. I am after all a typical "Starving Artist" - A lucky one who always has a full belly thanks to a wonderful hubby who works to pay the bills.    In the interests of being able to write more blogs for my readers, I have come up with Friday Funday, the second part of a two part blog.  The first part on my facebook FanPage Notes is Work Wednesday, and is about the Business side - Planning

Just some Random thoughts about start up business.

OK so I felt kinda like writing a blog post today, especially since I haven't written one in a while. I have kept pretty busy lately, and done a lot of reading, some was for fun, but most has been for learning. the main topic? Business plans. I'm trying to come up with a good one that could possibly get me a grant to help get my business off the ground and possibly get me and my family on our feet and stabilized in a bad economy.  I'd like to be able to buy a house, and have a studio room that I could base my Shop out of.  perhaps have it be a well organized "craft" room with a desk for the computer so I can list my items and keep up with the Internet social media thing .  with the way so much of commerce in general is moving to the Internet, there is so much to think about and the world just seems to be expanding at a very rapid pace.  some ideas I've been thinking about are the various causes and fundraising for them. it seems that some business strategies

Marketing for Dummies chapter 1: Optimizing your Marketing Program

Image
So, I've been reading, and rereading, and taking notes, and reading some more from this realy great book " marketing for dummies " (I borrowed my copy from my local library)  Now I'm not dummy, but the reasons why I've been reading - the first chapter even! - over and over, is because it is just that good.  I've litterally been using it like a text book for colledge, using the questions like assignments and going the extra mile on them. Chapter 1 is all about "optimizing your Marketing Program".  Well I didn't really have a marketing program, or a marketing strategy, or know anything about marketing and sales other than you have to do some sort of marketing to make sales.  what an eye opener this one chapter has been!  Now that I've been made aware of this, I've been developing a plan that will be more successful for me.  A few key points made are focusing your time, and your money on marketing techniques that have a major or secondary bu

Watercolor BIBLE?

Image
This past week I've been reading a book by Joe Garcia , a watercolor painter.  That's one of his paintings on the left. The book is called "The Watercolor Bible"  It was written in 2006, so it is fairly current.  It gets down to all the little details watercolor artists need to know, but one thing I noticed: it barely mentioned watercolor pencils!  I was rather dissapointed by this at first, but after reading further I found that while the watercolor pencils are slightly different, the same techniques and general rules still apply. There were many exsamples with detailed explanations throught the 8 sections, from materials and supplies, collecting and recording ideas for paintings, composition, Drawing and painting techniques and properties, Color and special effects, even demonstrationss of popular subjects. It was easy to understand, and really helpful, and I came away inspired and full of ideas.  Perhaps I'll show you some in later blogs!  I willdefinately be c

this is the first thing I did with my new pencils. (it's not finnished yet) I started it in the car on the way home! all that's left to do is use water to make it look all soft and watercolor painting ish. I took a pic and posted it to my facebookFanPage  it would appear that I'm starting a watercolor pencil obsession... last month it was knitting I made several scarves and have listed a few in my ArtfireShop  I will be adding more as I find the time.  I've been away for a while, mostly because new internet arangements... um ie get it at the Library or taco bell or other Free wi fi connection places around town instead of at my own home.... it's been rough.... but I guess I'm just a survivor.... I've survived w/ no phone, even no electric for about a month or two... no internet is no big deal... Library's only a mile away... and weather is getting nicer so if I can just fix my bycycle tire it'll be a sinch to get here.... oh yeah... don't let me
